Masterclass - Build a brand from the inside out

Build a brand that feels like you. A practical workshop for makers to create a clear, confident identity that connects with customers.

You’ve created something amazing, now it’s time to make sure your brand tells that story.

Join us for a relaxed, practical workshop designed to help you build a brand that feels like you, connects with the right people, and gives your business the confidence it deserves.

Your brand is so much more than a logo or a nice colour palette. It’s the story behind what you make, the values you stand for, the feeling people get when they discover your work, and the reason they remember you.

Build Your Brand From the Inside Out will help you understand what makes your business unique and how to bring that through in a way that feels clear, consistent, and authentic.

Whether you’re just starting out, feeling a bit stuck with your branding, or you’ve grown and your current look no longer feels like it fits, this workshop is here to help you find clarity and confidence.

Karen Bennett will share her expertise in brand strategy and design, showing you how to create a brand identity that feels aligned with your business and helps you connect with the customers who will love what you do.

What We’ll Cover

Building the Foundations of Your Brand

With Karen Bennett from Karen Bennett Graphic Design, we’ll look at:

  • What makes a strong brand (and why it’s about more than just visuals)

  • Understanding your brand personality, values, and story

  • Finding what makes your business stand out

  • Getting clearer on who you’re creating for

  • Building a brand that feels recognisable and consistent

Bringing Your Brand to Life

We’ll explore how to make your brand shine across everything you do, including:

  • Creating a look and feel that feels true to you

  • Choosing colours, fonts, imagery, and design elements with confidence

  • Making your social media, packaging, and marketing feel connected

  • Simple ways to elevate your visuals without overcomplicating things

  • Canva tips and tools to help you create content more confidently

Meet Your Hosts

Karen Bennett – Karen Bennett Graphic Design

Karen is the founder of Karen Bennett Graphic Design. After years working in marketing within financial services, she took the leap in 2023 to support independent female-led businesses.

Karen helps makers and small businesses create brands that feel like a true reflection of who they are, through brand strategy, design, brand refreshes, and Canva training.

Carmen – Support The Makers & Porty Festival

Carmen is the founder of Support The Makers and co-founder of Porty Festival.

What started as a one-off Christmas market in Portobello in 2019 has grown into a much-loved community of makers, creatives, and small businesses across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Carmen is passionate about creating opportunities for independent businesses to grow, connect, and feel supported, because running a creative business can sometimes feel like a lot to figure out on your own.

Why Come Along?

Building a brand can feel a bit overwhelming. There are so many decisions to make, from what colours to choose to how to explain what you do in a way that feels natural.

This workshop is about helping you cut through the noise and understand the bits that really matter.

You’ll leave with a clearer idea of what your brand stands for, practical ways to strengthen your visuals and messaging, and the confidence to show up more consistently as your business grows.

Expect honest advice, friendly chat, plenty of practical ideas, hot drinks, cookies, and a supportive room full of people who are all figuring it out too.

Let’s build brands that feel as brilliant as the things you make.

We're opening the doors for a live conversation with the people behind Support The Makers.

On Saturday 11 July at 10.00am, Carmen (founder) and Lauren of Unravel Business Support, who's been working alongside Carmen for the past two years - are hosting a live Q&A session to talk through the changes we've been making to support you, and to answer your questions directly about being a maker in the Support The Makers Community.

This one's for all Makers in the Support The Makers world. Whether you've traded with us for years, you're waiting to hear back on an application, or you're a maker hoping to join your very first market, there's a space here for you.

When you sign up, you'll get a link to submit any questions you have in advance - applications, waiting lists, the updated terms, market reels, anything that's been on your mind.

And if you don't have a question? Come anyway. There's plenty to take away just from listening in.

A couple of things to note:

• This is live only - we won't be sharing a recording afterwards.

• There are just 100 spots, and over 1,000 makers in our community, so grab yours early.

We'd love to see you there.

Show Up & Stand Out The story behind the scroll - and what it really takes to show up with Marti Jeremiah-Shelley

The Story Behind the Scroll — And What It Really Takes to Show Up

Every scroll hides a story.

At this special networking event, Marti Jeremiah-Shelley of Wee Bit Social will be sharing hers.

From the early steps of building her business to navigating visibility, doubt, growth, and the pressure of always being “on,” Marti will take us behind the scenes of what it has truly taken to show up — consistently, courageously, and authentically — in both business and life.

This is more than a talk about social media. It’s a real conversation about resilience, confidence, lessons learned, and the defining moments that shaped her journey.

Why join us?
Because showing up isn’t always easy — and you don’t have to figure it out alone. If you’ve ever struggled with visibility, confidence, or putting yourself out there, this conversation will resonate. You’ll gain honest insight from someone who’s walked the path and built something meaningful along the way.

What will you leave with?
✨ A renewed perspective on what it truly means to show up
✨ Practical insight you can apply to your own business or brand
✨ Encouragement to own your story
✨ Genuine connections with fellow business owners and creatives

Come for the networking.
Stay for the story.

Refreshments will be available.
