THE CONCEPT
We’re incredibly excited to be collaborating with Basement Gelato to bring The Gelato Gallery to life - a creative initiative celebrating local artists and illustrators by giving them the opportunity to showcase and sell their work in a unique, community-focused space.
The idea is simple: bring art into the everyday, connect local creatives with new audiences, and create a space where great art and great gelato come together.
We’re inviting local artists and illustrators to apply for the opportunity to have their work featured on the walls of Basement Gelato, transforming the space into a celebration of local talent and creativity. Whether you’re an emerging artist or an established creative, we want to hear from you!
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
The opportunity is open to all local artists and illustrators. Applications should be submitted via Eventaly by Tuesday 20th October 2026. Selected artists will be asked to present their work in plain white frames and drop their artwork off at Basement Gelato on Friday 30th October 2026, ready for installation.
Exhibition Duration
The first Gelato Gallery exhibition will run from November until the end of December 2026, with plans to continue the initiative into 2027. Our aim is to refresh the artwork every three months, giving more local artists and illustrators the opportunity to showcase their work throughout the year.
Artwork Sales & Commission
We want to make this a lovely opportunity for local creatives to showcase and sell their work. There is no upfront fee to take part. A 10% commission will be deducted from all artwork sales to help cover the administration costs of running The Gelato Gallery. Artists will receive 90% of the sale price of their artwork.
The Launch Night
To celebrate the launch of The Gelato Gallery, we’re hosting an opening evening on Friday 6th November 2026, from 7pm. Join us for an evening of local art, community, gelato and crumble as we celebrate the artists involved and officially unveil the gallery.
THE VISION
The Gelato Gallery is about creating opportunities for local creatives, making art more accessible, and bringing something a little different to the local community.
We want to champion independent artists, encourage people to discover and purchase original work, and create a space that feels as creative and welcoming as the community around it.

KEY DATES
