Haddington Corn Exchange Market: A New Chapter in the Heart of East Lothian.

There was a real sense of excitement as we opened the doors to our new market location at Haddington Corn Exchange.

Set in the the heart of this vibrant market town, the Corn Exchange gave our well loved vibrant market the opportunity to highlight a unique variety of gorgeous handmade products to a brand new audience, to share our love of handmade and give our makers new opportunities.

We have wanted to expand into East Lothian for some time and we are really excited about having found such a great location and a fantastic team at East Lothian Council who were so incredibly supportive and welcoming.

A Brilliant Line-Up of 38 Makers

With 38 incredible makers transforming the Corn Exchange into a colourful celebration of creativity. From handcrafted homewares to delicious treats, textiles, illustration, jewellery, skincare, prints, gifts, and more, every corner offered something special.

Over 700 Visitors Through the Doors

We were thrilled to welcome over 700 visitors throughout the day, creating an atmosphere that was both lively and welcoming. It was amazing to see locals, families, regulars, and first-time visitors all exploring, chatting, and supporting small businesses.

One of the standout successes of the day was the sale of original artwork, with several pieces going home with delighted buyers.

“Best Market of the Year” Feedback

We were genuinely touched to hear several makers describe this as their best market of the year. From the footfall to the sales to the warm and friendly crowd, the feedback was incredibly uplifting and we have also taken on board the constructive feedback to improve on things too. It’s comments like these that remind us why we do what we do — and how special this community truly is.

This event also saw many new makers joining us for the first time, adding fresh creativity, new ideas, and even more personality to the room. Seeing newcomers blend so naturally with our established makers is one of the most rewarding parts of running these markets.

We are passionate about creating a supportive and welcoming community at our markets and we have felt such a shift in the last few months, with a genuine sense of pride as we get feedback on how we run our markets but also on the added value we offer makers with our blogs, workshops, advice and guidance. This has been such a positive step into our bigger plans for supporting makers not just at markets, but behind the scenes too.

Our first market at the Corn Exchange felt like the start of something exciting. The central location,  the layout, and the amazing turnout all combined to create one of our most fabulous starts to a new location in a venue that already feels like home — and one we can’t wait to return to in 2026 with more markets and creative workshops joining the line up.

A huge thank you to every visitor, every maker, and everyone who helped make this market such a great day.
