Wrapping Up 2025: A Year of Markets, Milestones & Magic
As we close out 2025, our hearts are overflowing - with gratitude, with memories from countless incredible markets, and with pride as we celebrated a huge milestone… our 7th Birthday!
What a year it’s been.
This year took us on the road to some truly fabulous locations, including a wonderful trip with our collective to the amazing Fringe By The Sea.
We had the honour of speaking at Edinburgh Creative mornings, sharing our passion for creativity and community. And perhaps the most unbelievable moment of all : co-founding and launching our very own Porty Festival with our dear friends Seb’s Urban Jungle.
We also hosted our very first Late Night Shopping pop-up at the brilliant Unity Hair Studio, and we very proud to be nominated for the Collaboration Award with Creative Edinburgh and loved every second of being part of the vibrant Porty Pride and the inspiring Leith Creative Trail and Fair Saturday Scotland.
Looking back, we’re immensely proud of everything we’ve built and everything we’ve been part of this year - but the truth is, none of it would be possible without you.
Our Community is the heart of every event, every milestone, every memory.
To our makers, our customers, the behind-the-scenes stars, friends, family, and my gorgeous girls — thank you, your support means the world!
With every market we have added new makers to our community, we have been really impressed with the high standard of gorgeous work that is coming to our markets and the feedback from both makers and customers has been really encouraging too - we are thrilled to be working with such a diverse community of local makers.
A Look Back On 2025
This year our application process has been hosted on Eventaly which has been a game changer as our admin reduced significantly which has enabled us to:
relaunch our monthly newsletters
relaunch networking events and workshops
share more informative blogs
also offering features like instagram lives and gift guides
We have introduced feedback forms after each market and this has been instrumental to us being able to make consistent constructive changes to the market experience and our processes.
What’s New In 2026
The Shop With No Name Pop Up
Working with our venues who all offer a different experience to both our makers attending and our customers shopping - we are excited to be adding an exciting location to our schedule with our themed pop up’s at the Shop With No Name, with a Samples & Seconds, Ceramic, Vintage and Christmas Edit.
Artisan Food Traders
We are also introducing some changes to our markets at George Watson’s College with the addition of artisan food traders to the existing makers market to create a Makers and Food Market, which after our first market at this venue is looking to become a highlight within the local community.
Second Hand & Vintage Focus
Portobello Town Hall will also have a change with the addition of the Second Hand Vintage Market in April and October. These dates will be a curated collection of amazing second hand finds, vintage clothing, and unique pre-loved goods.
Maker Networking & Masterclasses
We have a very exciting 2026 planned with makers masterclasses, born from the regular questions we get from our community. We want to offer our makers more than just the market experience but also a community which gives advice, guidance and support. We have a few Sharing the Story networking events coming up - where we will have guest speakers who we feel have an inspiring story to share within the creative community.
Maker of the Month
Having listened to feedback from makers, we are excited to relaunch Makers of the Month - a year-long celebration spotlighting the talented creators behind handmade and small businesses.
Each month, selected makers will have the chance to take over our Instagram and share their story.
We will be taking an extended break over December - February with lots of our admin and socials all scheduled to give us some time to refresh and recharge over the festive season.
We want to thank all our makers within our community for being so supportive and to our incredible customers who totally appreciate our love of handmade and supporting small this past year.
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year
